Ancient Egyptian Civilization

In this unit, you will investigate the culture and contributions of the ancient Egyptian civilization. Find out about the mathematical, astrological, and medical advances made by this early civilization. Learn about the pharaohs, gods and goddesses. Discover how the similarities and differences between your daily lives and the lives of the Egyptians. Various multimedia and activities will guide you during your learning experiences.

In the first activity, you will explore cultural aspects of the ancient Egyptian civilization by completing a Webquest. In the second activity, you will learn about the papyrus making process used during this civilizations time as well as how the written form of communication was developed through the use of hieroglyphics. In the third activity, you will review what you have learned throughout the unit by playing a PowerPoint game about ancient Egyptian geography, culture, people and contributions. For the final activity, you will create a multimedia piece to culminate your learning experience.
